Officially it's day two of the puppies - but we all feel as if it has been a week! After a very long day and night - Kaycee and her brood are settling in to a routine. The night is not so bad - although Kaycee has a bit of the runs due to the placenta she ingested. The other night we both got up to do cleaning duty. Last night, Lisa was kind enough to allow me to sleep as she snuck out of bed to handle the clean up duty. For those of you wondering - we have the floor covered with thick Mylar plastic for ease of cleaning up! But it is still a smelly, messy job. Our wash machine has been running non-stop for 72 hours - Lisa keeps the whelping box (soon to be a puppy coral) very clean!
